The beautiful and luscious Shanna Lynn Moakler is more than just a pretty face on your television screen or Playboy magazine. This accomplished Bunny is also an actress, a reality television star, a model and former beauty queen.
Moakler has German, Portugeuse and Irish blood running in her veins, and it seems the best features of all these races has blended together and produced such a beautiful woman. She was born to a dentist, John W. Moakler III and his wife, Gail Moakler on March 28, 1975, in Providence, Rhode Island. She was the fourth child born to the family, and already had two older brothers, Kirk, and John W. Moakler IV and an older sister. Moakler was a regular tomboy in her youth and enjoyed going to her grandparent’s farm where she was usually darting around the farm, climbing the trees and playing with the farm animals.
Even in her youth, Moakler thrived on competition. She was a competitive roller skater for twelve years before high school, where she eventually became captain of the football team. However, in her early years (which she describes as her “ugly duckling” years), Moakler was pretty short and petite (she was 4’11, and weighed 75 pounds). When she hit puberty as seventeen, it was only then that Moakler filed out and developed her figure.
At the age of 15, Moakler had already begun her modeling career. She had posed for different famous publications such as Cosmopolitan, Brentwood and, yes, later in her career, Playboy! In December 2001, Moakler even was named Playmate of the Month.
After high school, Moakler left behind Rhode Island and moved Miami to pursue a modeling career, something that she had wanted since her childhood. At 17, she entered the Miss Teen USA Pageant, where she represented Rhode Island. She did well for her first time, finishing in 7th place overall. In 1995, Moakler was named Miss New York USA, and she finished overall in 2nd place. Finally, all her hard work and dedication paid off when, in May 1995, Moakler was crowned Miss USA.
Moakler also has television appearances under her belt, and her start was back in 1996 when she guest starred in the hit show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She also has appearances in other shows such as Friends ‘Til the End, Timecop and Pacific Blue.
Moakler even has a sense of humor when it comes to her work! During 2003, she collaborated with Punk’d host Ashton Kutcher to play a prank with her then-husband, Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker. The prank was to have a waiter flirt way too excessively with Moakler during a romantic dinner between the married couple in a posh restaurant.
Moakler has had a string of high-profile romances. Included in her romantic past is ex-hubby Travis Barker, singer Billy Idol, boxing legend Oscar de la Hoya, and veteran actor Dennis Quaid. However, she still retains a certain on and off relationship with Travis Barker. Moakler has 3 children at present, two from her marriage to Travis Barker: Landon Asher Barker and Alabama Luella Barker, and one from her relationship with Oscar de la Hoya: Atiana Cecilia de la Hoya.
